38 Countries preparing for Baku

Since I last posted about the Countries taking part in the 57th Eurovision Song Contest, six countries have confirmed their participation in Baku next May.

Montenegro is back in competition having not taken part since 2009, while Monaco has confirmed it will not take part in next years contest. They last appeared in 2006. The Czech Republic will also not take part in this years contest. They have not taken part since 2009.

So who will we be seeing in the Semi-Finals in Baku, the following are all confirmed:

  4. Belgium
  5. Bosnia and Herzegovina
  6. Bulgaria
  7. Croatia
  8. Cyprus
  9. Denmark
  10. Estonia
  11. Finland
  12. Greece
  13. Hungary
  14. Iceland
  15. Ireland
  16. Israel
  17. Latvia
  18. Lithuania
  19. Macedonia
  20. Malta
  21. Moldova
  22. Montenegro
  23. Netherlands
  24. Norway
  25. Portugal
  26. Romania
  27. San Marino
  28. Serbia
  29. Slovenia
  30. Sweden
  31. Switzerland
  32. Turkey
  33. Ukraine
Five of the automatic finalists have confirmed their particpation, with only Italy not yet confirmed after their return last year.
  1. Azerbaijan
  2. France
  3. Germany
  4. Spain
  5. United Kingdom
There is still talks that a number of countries will not be returning this year including Italy. The other countries who seem unsure about participation next year include, Armenia, Poland and Slovakia. No decision has yet been taken on Morocco’s participation in the contest.
