Eurovision 2012 – Baku
So the 2011 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest is barely over and moves are already underway for the 57th Eurovision Song Contest. So far we have a logo and location city.
We also have some prelimary dates for your calender.
- Semi Final 1: 22nd May 2012
- Semi Final 2: 24th May 2012
- Final: 26th May 2012
So far 8 countries have confirmed their participation in Eurovision next year. They are:
- Austria
- Azarbaijan (host)
- Belgium
- Estonia
- Finland
- Germany
- Netherlands
- Switzerland
In 2009/2010 Azerbaijan was suppoesed to host the 3rd Eurovision Dance Contest. This was cancelled due to not enough interest. It is doubtful that this will happen to next years contest, but it means that ?ctimai Television have an idea of what they have to organise in 12 months time.
So who is going to Baku?

You are welcome. ESC is where there are no borders and this is the show all Europe enjoys. Come, though I hardly believe Europe will vote for Armenia, if it is not a very beautful song of course. Europe will fall in love with Azerbaijan and all Armenian tales composed so far will be put away. Azerbaijan is the nation that you have always been jealous with and it will always remain this way. I think you know why
Just come to Baku in 2012 and have a chance to get to know Azerbaijani people that are completely different than described in the tales you have been talled all your life long.
i believe jedward should be back at eurovision and with the same song and we should win the song contest next year we have made it to the finals and hope we can win the contest come on jedward i am behind you all the way and when you come back home let us hope we will have a celebration
I think so you are right. Jedward to win Eurovision 2012! I heared that they will be back, but i am not sure hopefully they are and they should win! =:)

I think its a shame that Jedward are in it again, I think its a shame Donna Mccal gets to do it again, I think its a shame the high kings have been asked by bill hughes to enter without hearing a song from them. It makes me sick that every year due to favourtism people who are in the click with RTE are getting to the finals!. Marc bleedin Dunne? Donal Skeehan? Magella O’Donnel? Scott newman / yan o’brien both work for rte, your man waters, and many more. Do you know the year Dustin got a song in there was only 250 entries sent in. I won a contest many years ago with RTE for a song. Ile be entering a song in for 2013 but it wont be for Ireland, no matter how good the song is we dont have a chance. If my entry gets picked for another country ide be delighted cause it would give rte a right kick in the hole, to think an irish man has an entry in for another county and for it to do well. There are great songs, and a great song does not need jazzy productions to be selected as an entry the rte orchestra are great! It would be a different story if Dave fanning, Chris keneavey and Kevin Hough were to pick songs, because they would be the best songs, and not shit!. Total shame and a joke
Okay, if Ireland sends Jedward it will be a high possibillity that they’ll take places 1-10 again. Their song may not be the best one on Irish national selection but these lads are wonderful and people all across Europe love them.
I think that the eurosong contest should be given to artists that are trying to get recognition for their singing and songwriting.Jedward are already millionaires and have a huge fan base. It is an unfair contest in Ireland because jedward are a sucessful marketing group and there is no way any of the others who enter will win. Please give new artists an opportunity to be heard. Let some other talented artist make a living.I agree with Tom.
I agree with oliviapreston. I know Ireland wants to win and sending Jedward may be our best hope (because of their fame) but putting one huge marketing product up against 4 nobodies (and anyone who claims Donna McCaul is a ‘somebody’ is talking nonsense) is clearly unfair. Look it, I’m not gonna judge. I just think it’s obviously weighted in Jedward’s favour. I feel sorry for the other four.
